Stroke on the Tube

Just the other day, I was travelling to university on my 3 part journey; southwest trains, the tube and the DLR. Just as the tube was approaching Canada Water a man of 50′s- 60s started to have a stroke. The passenger who was travelling alone was typing away on his laptop one minute, the next he was on the floor being given CPR by a cabin crew member. The panic of the people in the same carriage was apparent, not knowing what to do, feeling so helpless whilst waiting for some sort of help to arrive. Everyone was alert and tried to help in every way possible, for the man they had never met before.

Around 12 minutes later the ambulance did arrive, unknown of how the gentleman is I would like to highlight the woman who gave CPR. Watching her bravery and courage was inspirational. It has made me want to learn CPR, simply so that if anything like this occurs at least we would know what to do and possibly save someones life. Hope the gentleman is alright and on his way to a speedy recovery!
